This was an incredible experience. Sunada is such a thoughtful and welcoming human being. I genuinely believe this class will be critical to my health. I already notice changes in my body and mind. Sunada is a wonderful teacher and her MBSR class profoundly changed my life! Over the eight weeks Sunada teaches you how to build your mindfulness practice and apply it in your daily life- like being stuck in the middle of Boston traffic or dealing with challenging family members! I looked forward to traveling an hour each week to the in person classes and found so much value in hearing the experiences from others in the small group. I have continued to study with Sunada after the course ended and I would highly recommend this program to everyone!

I took this course with Mindful Purpose in 2015 and it’s not an exaggeration to say it was life changing (writing this review in 2022)! I’d suffered from intense insomnia since I was literally a child. I’d tried plenty of medical options and knew every sleep health/“stress reduction” tip in the book. The mindfulness techniques I learned in the MBSR class were invaluable and it’s now been years since insomnia has interfered with my daily life. I still have occasional sleep issues and I’d love to be more consistent with a meditation practice, but overall I gained so many tools in those 8 weeks that continue to help with stress and anxiety, it’s beyond what I would have known to hope for.

I took Sunada's MBSR class a little under a year ago. While I have to admit that I could have participated more in my own meditation practice (read: I didn't do my homework as often as I "should" have), I still got so much out of the class.

I had been looking for an in-person MBSR class for quite some time and had started reading Jon Kabat-Zinn's "Full Catastrophe Living" prior to the class. So when I found out about Sunada's Winter/Spring session, I was thrilled to be able to participate.

Even from the introductory video call, it became clear that Sunada was extremely knowledgeable about meditation and MBSR, very helpful and encouraging as an instructor, and a very kind and friendly person. Her class introduced me in a real and practical way to meditation, and, as a part of my own spiritual journey, set into motion a lot of personal development and growth in the last year that I am very grateful for. I did feel a bit out of place at times being the only male in the class, but overall I really enjoyed the experience and only wish I had done more of my own work outside of the class. Inside of class, discussions were enlightening, substantive, and helpful, and the guided meditations were great a intro/practice for the weekly homework and the cultivation of our own practices.

Overall, a great experience! Thank you, Sunada!

The personal growth that I have experienced from taking this course is priceless. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for years, and I can honestly say that I am now able to better understand and respond to difficult situations in my life because of the lessons taught by Sunada. I also found great value in listening and learning from my fellow classmates. It was truly inspirational!

My husband and I have just completed Sunada Takagi’s eight week course in MBSR, mindfulness-based stress reduction. It was the most beneficial course we’ve ever taken. There were many opportunities to learn about meditation, practice it onsite, and get directions and audio files for guided meditation homework during the week. While it was a significant investment in time and effort, it paid significant dividends even in just 8 short weeks. Research shows that even as little as 8 weeks can change the brain’s structure…WOW. Our experiences show that we can learn to make thoughtful choices based on what’s happening NOW that we never thought of before taking the course. We look forward to continuing our practice now that we’ve had such a positive experience.
