I went here for a recovery meeting and I really like the place. The people were very welcoming since it was my first time there. The facility is clean and conducive to a meeting and meditation. It looks like they are adding another building there. I will be going back for sure.

Everything was so good! Portions were more than enough, place was clean, staff was really friendly and helpful for first timers. Best breakfast I've had since living in Florida.

A wonderful place to learn about mindfulness meditation.
The meditation hall is beautiful, peaceful and serene. The practitioners are friendly and welcoming. They also offer workshops on various trainings. The teacher Fred is fully awake and gives great talks on Sunday mornings.

The center is lovely; however, my experience was not entirely satisfying. First, there is an emphasis on Buddhist principles and doctrine. I understand meditation is rooted in Buddhism; however, practices germane to Buddhist practice (ie bowing to the Buddha, chanting) were integrated into this meditation class. I prefer a secular practice to meditation (MBSR). Before you attend as a newcomer, know the practices in this center are rooted in Zen. There was no welcoming of newcomers and no clear emphasis on the rigidity of the rules on our first meeting or online description. You have to read the entire website to know what exactly you've enrolled in. Consequently, we were locked out on the second day of the retreat (for which we take full responsibility for). Our tardiness was unavoidable and we wish this policy of being “5 minutes late was not acceptable” was told to us before hand. It felt scolding and non compassionate. There was no one sitting at the door we could’ve contacted, no contact number, or schedule posted that would have redirected us. As I understand it, meditation is not about rigidity, but loosening the chains of habituation. I personally did not feel this center cultivated this kind of mind set. Having been to prior retreats, this center would not be one I’d return to. Wishing all well.
