My boyfriend and I randomly stopped by on a weeknight without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate us. We did the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was incredible! The dishes were super creative, and the ambiance and service were great. Everything was fantastic! We are planning to come back soon for the 9-course menu.

Before our most recent dinner at March, I was stunned to realize that I have never written them a review. Let’s get that sorted out right now! I have been to March half a dozen times since they opened and it’s always such a special dining experience. There’s certainly no equal in Houston and we love celebrating special occasions here. The menu changes every 6 months or so which keeps things fresh and I am always excited to try the chef’s new creations. I am not a vegetarian, but have opted for the vegetarian menu on several occasions and the dishes have always been thoughtful in both design and flavor profile. Some tasting menu restaurants leave you hungry and wanting more, but that has never been the case with March, even with the more abbreviated 6 course menu. The ambiance is intimate and incredibly romantic and the service is unparalleled. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Impeccable dining experience, this has to be the best in Houston. Expressive and glorious dishes prepared in the best Michelin Star manner with attentive but easy and gracious service and lots and lots of little extras— our six course meal really had ten different items coming out plus an additional gift bag! Interior decor at March also a true standout with a very sophisticated playful warm contemporary vibe like nothing quite like anything else I’ve seen in Houston. Side note: I would not call this Mediterranean at all like noted in the Google name. Its Italian Regional done with haute cuisine French cooking methods is probably the best way I can think to describe the delicious food.

I had the best time here! The food was amazing. Things I thought I would never try I tried here, and they were all so flavorful, and at the end of everything, I was so full. This place is worth every dollar. The experience alone is something you don't want to sleep on. They change their menu every six months, so they always have something new. I went in July, so all the pics in this review are from the last seasons menu, but it gives you an idea of what they have to offer as far as the presentation and quality of food.

Background: I've traveled and frequent such places as Addison , Various Michelin Star Restaurants, and Forbes 5 star awarded locations in places such as NY, CA, HI etc.

Condensed Review : Excellent unique experience with premium quality ingredients and attention to detail. Where it could be improved was the overall highlighting of the main ingredients and story in a simplistic way.

Long Version : I was taken on a journey back in time to celebrate Genova Italy in around the 15th century and along my culinary journey I was presented with various in-depth historical facets. It was great to have the lounge area upon arrival for some amazing light fare and caviar service. It was here the food was most balanced and made me wanting more.

I would mention all of the staff was amazingly accommodating and professional. The service was immaculate and I would not change a thing there. Where it proves some improvements could lie are in the story which is presented at each course. I feel as though there was the presence of the taskmasters whip at the servers tongues attempting to get the lines just perfect but faltering at times with many of the staff. I believe this is due to the complexity behind the scenes trying perhaps too hard at times to convey the passion of leadership. I also dare say if I had brushed up on my 15th century Italian history if I asked a question out of line they may dare have a hard time answering it. Minus Daniel who was the most learned and I could feel his deep excitement and thoroughness of what he was speaking on. This person needs additional compensation for his amazing efforts , he carried the journey in all ways. All of this to say I believe there could be some real areas to gain in simplifying the story and highlighting simply the roots of the dish.

The food quality , presentation, and freshness, and creativity of ingredients were on par with the top of the line establishments I’ve journeyed to. There is little I would change regarding that. I feel though the overall composition of flavors need to be reviewed to match the standard they set in all other areas of the restaurant. Many dishes were good but had such bold flavors that often my palate would be coated in something cloyingly sweet or overpoweringly salty which was not, at least, part of the culinary journey which was explained to me prior to the particular dish. They need to allow the main ingredient in each dish to flourish on its own without competing with its accompaniments. Please also bear in mind I’m basing these suggestions on a caliber in which this restaurant is, these are very acute observations.

Overall this was a beautiful scene of building, food, staff, and provided a unique experience worth many praise and accolades and I wish the best for March now and in the coming years and hope the heed to some of points above to hopeful maximize on what is an amazing foundation and pillars to which they have built at their establishment.

March offers seasonally changing tasting menus focused on various regions of France and Spain. Currently, Catalonia is the region that they were focused. We were served a vibrant tasting menu of nine dishes plus an apéritif and dessert. Each dish had its own unique qualities and reasons for its construction. Always beautifully plated and well cooked. Only one dish I felt was over seasoned, but it was still great. They used mushrooms in many unique ways to bring out the flavor well also giving you unique textures with different breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, etc., I would absolutely recommend this to anybody for a good date night. They have an exceptional wine menu with many options for even the pickiest of wine enthusiast. The sommelier did an excellent job with his recommendations as he clearly knew the flavor profiles of each dish.

The staff was not only attentive, they were friendly and happy to converse with you. It’s nice when you go to a high quality restaurant and it feels like they want you there as opposed to ‘you being fortunate enough to be there’.

I have no complaints regarding the experience. The service was excellent and the staff were wonderful. The food was very disappointing, though. My wife and I dined in for her birthday and we both left disappointed. We wanted it to be good, but it just wasn't.

We had recently gotten married at the wine cellar here, followed by the nine course menu with the Premium wine pairing. We were beyond pleased with every aspect of the evening. The food was phenomenal. The wine was wonderful, and so perfectly paired. And to top it off, the service was outstanding. Also, watch out! The bar makes such tasty drinks! You would think you wouldn’t drink more in addition to a 9 course wine paring…but the cocktails were so fabulous we just kept drinking up!

We couldn’t be more grateful to Mae, who helped us coordinate the evening weeks before. She is very lovely and helpful. And the night wouldn’t be what it was without Cody… He led us through the cocktail room down to the wine cellar, and then to the private room for the remainder of our evening. He has amazing personality, I felt like he was part of our party!
