Dr. Unger has been a great doctor since we’ve been bringing our daughter in. However - cancelling an appointment that has been set for 3 months, and trying to move it 6 months out? Absolutely ridiculous. There is no physical needed, it was even told to us that it was just a simple signature needed to clear our daughter for driving so she can get her license. Office staff is curt, zero empathy, and unwilling to work with you at all. Horrendous. My child has been looking forward to this appointment so she can get her license that has now been postponed over a year. I truly hope Dr. Unger sees these reviews and cleans house. Who you employ tells the world what you value, and it is evident this office does not value courtesy, empathy, or compassion.

Have been seeing Dr. Unger for over a year for pain in my head. He sent me for several MRI’s and was finally diagnosed and referred to a neurosurgeon in Orlando for a procedure that I was scared to death to have. Well after seeing the neurosurgeon he apologized that I had to travel so far to see him as I was misdiagnosed and had no such symptoms to what I was referred to him for! Well long and behold I am back to square one again as to what is causing the pain. Seeing Dr Unger was a complete waste of my time. Very disappointed!

Dr. Unger is a wonderful neurologist. I have been a patient for over 15yrs, but his office staff is horrendous. They cancel appts telling you the day before, they cancel appts if they say you missed a copay even when you have the paid receipt, and they put people in already scheduled spots and move you months out with extremely late notice. I have recommended everyone I have known that needs a neurologist to Dr. Unger, but his office staff makes me tell people to stay away now.

Dr. Unger seems to be a good doctor for my aunt, he tested her and diagnosed her well. It is a shame though that his office staff is so rude and incompetent that it makes people not want to stay with him. I’ve been dealing with his staff for over a year while my aunt was getting tested/diagnosed and it’s the worst service I’ve ever experienced. When you call you are immediately put on hold . I’ve been on hold for up to 30 minutes before I give up and call back (at which time when I’m asked to hold, I say no.) I am now trying to get my aunt’s records from Dr. Unger (as we have switched doctors) and we’ve been waiting a month. Today they say they never received the request. Now they are saying that if I want the records, it will be 2 weeks. At this point, this office staff is denying my aunt healthcare because no neurologist will see her without records. When I told the staff that I was frustrated and that this office staff was terrible to deal with she informed me that she wouldn’t help me at all and hung up on me. Did I lose my patience? Yes. But it’s been a year of the same nonsense. Dr. Unger prescribed her medicine but never bothered to inform her. 2 months later we find out through another doctor that she was supposed to be on medication. Seriously? They didn’t even call her to tell her they sent a prescription to the pharmacy. Every phone call with them is painful and leads nowhere.

I have been seeing Dr. Unger since 2012 due to my neuropathy. Now I have Charcot foot bilaterally. Dr Unger seems to be a good doctor and it’s a shame that his reputation is being ruined by his office staff. When I go to my appointment I usually wait 2 + hours before seeing him. I am now Awaiting a call from his office manager, jackie.
So if and when I get a call back from her i hope she she can explain why I was ‘ let go from the practice’ it’s really sad that a man that went through so much schooling and seems to be a very educated man could be ruined by his office staff. Dr Unger’s office staff are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I’m hoping Dr Unger is not part of them being able to treat his patients with such disrespect but I’m starting to wonder. In my opinion, if you are looking for a neurologist do not go see Dr. Richard Unger. His staff is the worst and rudest people I have ever spoken to. The one front desk person had the nerve to call me a B—- when I asked to speak with the office manager. I then called back to ask how I can leave a review and she told me that ‘under no circumstances would she send me a link to leave a review and then she hung up on me. I have never in my 60 years been treated like this. Please re read this review and take my word for it. There is definitely something wrong with this medical practice and please read all the other reviews. I am not the only one who feels this way. It’s sad but true.

Doctor and medical staff were amazing. Friendly, caring, and tremendously knowledgeable. Office staff not as bad as many other reviews cited, but their demeanor and helpfulness could be improved. They lost paperwork that I needed, which was unfortunate.

Well let's start with the office staff: rude, disrespectful, now I don't understand why with so many negative complaints & unprofessionally! Why doesn't Dr.Unger do anything, that really shows me that (does he really care about his patients?
Also when Dr.Unger wrote a referral, I was always calling back because his staff couldn’t perform a referral process correctly.

Dr. Unger took the time to help me with a problem I'm experiencing related to a stroke. He is very knowledgeable, thoughtful and kind. He took his time to listen to my concerns and is helping with follow through to prevent future problems.His staff is also very kind and helpful. Grateful to be his patient.
